The mute patient Dr. Croft left to die had a shocking secret: she was hunting him.
Part 1
🤫 **He left a mute patient to die on the street — she was actually a whistleblower, silently hunting him.**
The freezing rain lashed against the hospital entrance, a stark contrast to the sterile warmth inside.
A nurse found me huddled by the automatic doors, shivering, my throat raw and silent, and called Dr. Elias Croft.
He took one look at my disheveled appearance and lack of insurance, then ordered security to escort me back out, telling them I was a liability, not a patient.
I lay there on the cold sidewalk, my chest aching, the wind threatening to steal the last breath from my lungs, knowing this was exactly what I needed.
The icy wind cut through my thin clothes as I struggled to breathe, the hospital doors clicking shut behind me. Minutes later, the beams of headlights caught me. Dr. Ben Carter, an independent physician, pulled his car over. He quickly took me to his small, independent clinic, his brow furrowed with concern.
He cleaned my wounds and tried to get me to speak, but my throat remained silent. Dr. Carter insisted I rest. He left me in a small examination room, promising to check on me again. Later that evening, he returned, a grim expression on his face. He held a printout.
“This is an alert from Croft Institute,” he said, tapping the paper.
“For you, Elara Finch.”
My eyes widened.
“It says you’re a ‘delusional patient’ who might be ‘dangerous’,” he continued, his voice tight. “They’re calling you a missing person, but the language…”
He looked directly at me, a question in his eyes. He didn’t believe it.
This immediately made Dr. Carter suspicious about Dr. Croft’s true intentions.
Part 2
Dr. Carter returned later, his expression still troubled. He carefully peeled back the bandages from my abdomen, his touch gentle. As he cleaned the area, his fingers paused.
I saw his eyes narrow, focusing on a specific part of my skin. There, just below my ribcage, was a complex, distinctive surgical scar. It wasn’t recent, but it was unlike anything from a common injury or routine surgery.
Its intricate pattern suggested something far more specialized. He leaned closer, his brow furrowing deeper.
He mumbled words like “genetic therapy” and “experimental intervention” under his breath. He looked up, his gaze locking onto mine. This was more than just a wound; it was the mark of a hidden medical secret.
