Chapter 10: The Evaluator Breaks

#content-1

Evelyn Navarro stood across from Dr. Aris Albright in a stark conference room near the venue’s administrative offices. The air was thick with tension.

“Dr. Albright,” Evelyn began, her tone sharp, “we have records of your personal bank accounts.”

She slid a printout across the table. It showed a series of large, unexplained transfers.

“These align perfectly,” Evelyn continued, “with losses incurred at Roman Torrez’s illegal betting network.”

Dr. Albright paled, his rigid posture crumbling. He swallowed hard.

“Ninety thousand dollars, to be exact,” Evelyn said, her voice like a scalpel. “A debt Damon Kincaid himself helped collect.”

She leaned forward. “He leveraged that debt. Forced you to draft a fraudulent custody assessment against Maya.”

Dr. Albright stared at the papers, his hands gripping the edge of the table. His professional career, his entire life, was hanging by a thread.

“Sign this,” Evelyn commanded, pushing a new document toward him. “A formal retraction. Clearing Maya of all charges. Admitting Damon’s coercion.”

Dr. Albright picked up the pen. His hand trembled, but he signed.
