Grieving Campaign Manager Exposes Corrupt $40M Candidate's Public Smear Campaign At Political Saloon Rally When Secret Inheritance Clause And Parrot Uncover Lover's Hidden Poisoning Letter
The murmurs in the saloon grew into an uproar. Donors, many of whom had contributed significant personal wealth to Harrison’s PAC, looked outraged. They had implicitly trusted him with Eleanor Kincaid’s legacy.
“This is a misunderstanding!” Harrison finally blurted, regaining some composure. He moved to the mic stand. “A clerical error, nothing more.”
“A clerical error that bypasses a legally binding trust clause?” Luke challenged, stepping forward. “An error that attempts to access $25 million of frozen assets?”
He wasn’t letting Harrison off the hook.
I watched the faces in the crowd. Mrs. Albright, a prominent real estate mogul who had personally endorsed Harrison, shook her head slowly. Mr. Vance, a powerful attorney, was already on his phone, his expression grim.
“The trust clearly states,” Luke explained, loud enough for the first few rows to hear, “that all major disbursements require approval from two of the three appointed executors. My mother was one. I am another. Clara, you were the third.”
He looked at me. “Harrison didn’t consult any of us, did he?”
“No,” I confirmed, meeting his gaze. “Not a single word.”
Harrison pounded the podium. “We had verbal agreements! Implied consent! This is a smear, a desperate attempt by a disgruntled former employee.”
“Implied consent doesn’t hold up in a trust court, Mr. O’Loughlin,” Luke stated, his tone unwavering. “Especially not for a $25 million fund established by one of this state’s most meticulous philanthropists.”
He turned to address the donors directly. “By ignoring these mandatory protocols, Harrison O’Loughlin has not only acted illegally, but he has put every single dollar of your collective PAC funding at risk.”
That hit home. Fast.
A tall man in a bespoke suit, who had been introduced earlier as the head of Harrison’s largest PAC, stepped forward. “Mr. O’Loughlin,” he said, his voice tight. “Is this true? Have you been attempting to draw down from a frozen trust?”
Harrison stammered, his eyes darting. “No, not exactly. We were… assessing liquidity.”
“Assessing liquidity by trying to transfer funds without proper authorization?” the PAC head pressed, his face hardening. “Effective immediately, the O’Loughlin for Congress PAC is freezing all further contributions.”
He looked around at the other major donors. “Until this is resolved, and the trust is proven solvent and properly managed, we recommend all affiliated PACs do the same.”
Another donor, a woman in a vibrant red dress, nodded sharply. “Agreed. Our firm will be reviewing all recent transfers.”
The campaign’s financial lifeblood was being cut off, right there, in front of everyone. Harrison’s face was a mask of disbelief and rage. The initial $2 million accusation against me now seemed utterly insignificant compared to the $25 million he’d tried to illegally access.
