Grieving Campaign Manager Exposes Corrupt $40M Candidate's Public Smear Campaign At Political Saloon Rally When Secret Inheritance Clause And Parrot Uncover Lover's Hidden Poisoning Letter
The saloon air grew thick with tension. I held the confession letter, its words burning in my mind. Harrison was pale, his eyes darting between me and Victoria.
“What is that, Clara?” he demanded, trying to sound authoritative, but his voice cracked.
“It’s a confession, Harrison,” I said, my voice steady, though my hands still trembled slightly. “From Victoria. Detailing everything.”
Before he could react, Luke gently took the letter from my grasp. He glanced at the elegant handwriting, then at the signature and notary stamp. His eyebrows rose.
“This,” Luke announced, holding the letter aloft for all to see, “is a signed, notarized confession from Victoria Pemberton, outlining Harrison O’Loughlin’s plan to embezzle $25 million from the Eleanor Kincaid trust and frame my sister, Clara Higgins, for the theft.”
The journalists, who had been pressing forward, erupted. Microphones were shoved towards Luke, cameras flashed wildly, capturing the incriminating document.
“Can we get a copy?” one reporter shouted.
“We need details!” another cried.
Luke handed the original letter to the nearest journalist, a woman from the *Texas Tribune*, whose eyes widened as she scanned the contents. Her finger immediately went to the notary stamp and Victoria’s signature.
“This is real,” she breathed, pulling out her phone. “This is big.”
Within minutes, images of Victoria’s confession letter, legible and damning, were being broadcast across national news channels. Social media feeds exploded. The Brass Saddle Saloon, once a place of celebration, had become the epicenter of a political scandal.
The effect was immediate and catastrophic for Harrison’s campaign. My phone, which I had forgotten about, vibrated incessantly in my pocket, flooded with notifications.
“Mr. O’Loughlin,” the PAC head said, his voice cold and hard. “Given this egregious breach of trust and the potential for severe financial fraud, all active political action committees associated with your campaign are initiating an immediate systemic freeze.”
He looked at Harrison with undisguised disgust. “No funds will be dispersed. All pending transactions are halted. Your campaign is officially cut off.”
Victoria, seeing her confession letter circulating, slumped against the doorframe, sobbing. She was trapped, just as her letter had stated. Harrison, however, seemed to deflate, his bluster gone. He looked like a man whose world had just been pulled out from under him.
The accusation against me, the $2 million, now seemed a laughable footnote to the $25 million Harrison had planned to siphon, and the elaborate scheme to ruin my career and reputation. The truth, in Victoria’s own words, was out.
