My Celebrity Husband Refused My Emergency C-Section To Save A $5M Streaming Deal — What My Daughter Found On His Phone Destroyed Everything
I stumbled out of the hospital thirty-six hours later, my body aching, my heart a hollow shell. Tremaine was there, waiting in the luxury SUV. He didn’t meet my gaze. He just held the door open, his face a carefully constructed mask of somber grief.
The ride home was silent, punctuated only by my ragged breaths. Brianna, my fourteen-year-old daughter, was waiting for me. She hugged me tight, her small body trembling. She had been staying with a neighbor.
My phone, which I had forgotten about, lay on my bedside table. When I finally picked it up, a notification badge glowed: hundreds of unread messages.
The first was from my sister, a frantic text. “Maya, what is going on? The blogs are saying… you refused the hospital?”
Then another. And another. All from concerned friends, asking about the “stories.”
I opened my social media. A wave of outrage hit me, a sickening, public condemnation. Major entertainment blogs had headlines screaming: “T-Ray’s Wife: Holistic Extremist Refused C-Section For Home Birth!”
The articles quoted “leaked medical logs,” supposedly showing my signature on documents refusing hospital transport. They painted a picture of me as a reckless, New Age mother who had endangered her child for some misguided natural birth ideal.
“Tremaine made desperate pleas,” one article read, “to save his wife and unborn son, but Maya insisted on an unmedicated home birth, against all medical advice.”
My fingers shook as I scrolled through the comments. Thousands of them. Calling me selfish, irresponsible, a killer. My “friends,” some of whom had just texted me, were liking and sharing the posts.
My close friend, Jessica, didn’t answer my call. Neither did Marcus, my production colleague. The world, it seemed, had already made up its mind. Tremaine’s PR machine had worked fast and brutally, twisting the truth into a weapon.
I was drowning in grief, and they had turned the tide of public opinion against me.
