When Her Ruthless Celebrity Producer Husband Abandons Her Six-Year-Old Son in a Red Rock Canyon for a $10 Million Insurance Payout, a Recovering Actress Exposes His Deadly Stunt to Reclaim Her Life
I clung to Toby for a long moment, the scent of dust and desert on his hair. The paramedics quickly confirmed he was physically unharmed, just tired and scared. He had seen an eagle, he kept repeating, as if to make sense of the ordeal. My brother, Mark, arrived shortly after, his face etched with relief as he embraced us both.
“He’s okay,” I whispered to Mark, my voice thick with emotion. “He’s really okay.”
“Thank God,” Mark breathed, ruffling Toby’s hair.
The media, sensing a new development, were already swarming the scene. Julian, on the other hand, was attempting to blend into the background, clearly rattled by Toby’s discovery and the map. He kept glancing nervously at the evidence bag in my hand.
“Elena, you should go with Toby to the regional hospital,” Mark urged. “Get him properly checked out. I’ll handle the press here.”
I looked at the map in my hand, then at Julian, who was trying to slip away towards his personal trailer. No. Not yet. Not while he thought he could escape.
“No,” I said, my gaze hardening. “Toby is with the medics. He’s safe. I have something else to do first.”
I handed Toby gently over to Mark, who gave me a questioning look. “Be careful,” he warned, understanding dawning in his eyes as he followed my gaze towards Julian.
I walked straight past the gathering reporters, past the concerned crew members, heading directly for Julian’s private production trailer. It was a luxurious mobile office, set apart from the main production hub, his sanctuary.
He saw me coming and quickened his pace, fumbling with his keys at the trailer door. He was trying to get inside, to lock himself away before I could reach him.
“Julian!” I called out, my voice cutting through the noise.
He swore under his breath, jamming the key into the lock. He yanked the door open and started to step inside.
I lunged forward, catching the door before he could slam it shut. My hand met the cold metal, stopping it with a sharp thud.
Julian turned, his face contorted in a sneer. “What now, Elena? Haven’t you caused enough of a spectacle?”
I pushed past him, stepping into the cool, dark interior of the trailer. It smelled of expensive cologne and stale coffee. His desk was covered in papers, scripts, and a laptop.
“No spectacle, Julian,” I said, my voice low. “Just a conversation. Between us.”
He tried to push past me, towards the door. “I have nothing to say to you. I’m calling my lawyer.”
But I was quicker. With a swift movement, I reached behind me, found the lock, and twisted it. The latch clicked shut, echoing loudly in the enclosed space.
Julian froze, his hand still on the door handle. He slowly turned to face me, his eyes wide with disbelief, then with a dawning fury.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he demanded, his voice rising. “Let me out!”
I held up the evidence bag, displaying the canyon survey map. The red circle, the ‘X’, his handwriting marking the “Supply Cache.”
“You left this with my son, Julian,” I said, my voice quiet but firm. “This map. To your secret hideout. To your hidden documents.”
His eyes darted to the map, then back to my face. The mask of disdain slipped, revealing a flicker of raw panic. He was trapped. Alone with me. No witnesses, no cameras, no PR team to spin his narrative. This was it.
