The Ex-Wife Secretly Ruled a Supernatural Empire, Her Family Found Out the Hard Way
Part 1
💧 **My Ex-Mother-in-Law Called Me a “Burden of Poverty” While My Ex-Husband Laughed — She Had No Idea My Next Text Message Would Summon Her Worst Nightmare.**
I just sat down to dinner at my ex-husband’s grand estate, a place I once called home.
Ten minutes later, his mother, Evelyn Hawthorne, had dumped a bucket of freezing, brackish well water over my head.
She laughed.
“A burden of poverty,” Evelyn sneered, her eyes gleaming with malice.
My ex-husband, Silas, and his new lover, Kendra, watched, smug and superior.
The cold water dripped down my face, but I simply pulled out my phone.
My fingers moved calmly across the screen.
I typed out a single, chilling message.
Silas chuckled, reaching for Kendra’s hand.
“Still clinging to us, Elara?” he asked, his voice dripping with condescension.
Kendra snickered into her wine glass.
Evelyn took another sip of her drink, a cruel smile playing on her lips.
“Just activate Veil Guardians,” I typed.
They continued their condescending remarks, oblivious.
They had no idea who I had just contacted.
They certainly didn’t know what “Veil Guardians” truly meant.
Part 2
A sudden, unnatural quiet fell over the opulent dining room. The shadows in the corners seemed to deepen.
Then, they coalesced. Tall, cloaked figures materialized from the deepening gloom.
They moved with unnatural grace, utterly silent, their presence chilling the very air. Their eyes, barely visible beneath their hoods, glowed with a faint, unsettling light.
Silas dropped his fork, the clatter echoing too loudly. Evelyn’s jaw went slack.
Kendra pressed herself back into her chair, a silent gasp caught in her throat. An icy dread filled the room, heavy and suffocating.
The Hawthornes, paralyzed by an unknown dread, had no idea who these silent entities were or what they wanted.
