Part 1

🥀 **My Husband Tried to Cast Me Out of My Own Home in Front of Everyone — Unaware I Was About to Claim Its Ancient Power.**
I simply showed up to the annual Harvest Gala as my husband’s wife. Within the hour, he was trying to cast me out of the very home that was rightfully mine, in front of everyone.

Elias, my husband, openly flirted with his supposed mistress, Seraphina Dubois, in the Grand Ballroom of Ravenscroft Estate. Then, without a shred of decency, he told me to “retire for the evening” so he could continue his sordid display.

My spine stiffened, though I kept my voice low. “I refuse, Elias.”
He paused, a glass of champagne halfway to his lips, his eyes flicking over Seraphina’s shoulder to meet mine. A faint flush rose on his cheeks.

“Elara, don’t make a scene,” he murmured, his tone a dangerous whisper meant only for me. “You’re making everyone uncomfortable with your dreary presence.”
“I have to remain,” I stated, my gaze steady. “For the estate’s ancient declaration.”

A flicker of surprise, then something colder, crossed his face. He quickly composed himself, a tight smile spreading. He turned back to Seraphina, who giggled, oblivious.
“My dear, you’ve been so fragile since your grandmother’s passing,” Elias said, his voice now loud enough for a few nearby guests to hear. “Perhaps a quiet evening will do you good. The grief can be… overwhelming.”

He wasn’t merely trying to humiliate me; he was laying the groundwork. My grandmother, the true matriarch of Ravenscroft, had died just months ago, leaving me the closest living relative. Elias had spent those months consolidating his power, whispering to anyone who would listen about my supposed instability, my ‘delicate constitution.’ He was building a case to declare me unfit for any inheritance, all while solidifying his own false claim to this very estate.

“I am perfectly well, Elias,” I replied, my voice unwavering. “And I am not leaving.”
He waved a dismissive hand, turning his full attention back to Seraphina, whose delicate fingers now rested on his arm. His smile was condescending, entirely confident in his control.
“As you wish, Elara,” he called out, his voice laced with patronizing pity. “But don’t say I didn’t try to spare you the strain.”

He dismissed my refusal as a pathetic attempt to cling to dignity, unaware of the true power she is about to unveil.

Part 2

Elias turned to face the assembled guests, a smug, confident smile on his lips, about to raise his glass. Just then, a ripple of shimmering light disturbed the air beside the grand fireplace.
It pulsed, then coalesced.

A tall, translucent figure materialized, its form vaguely human, glowing with an ethereal light. All chatter ceased.
It turned its head slowly, its featureless face settling on me.

Then, a voice, deep and resonant, filled the ballroom, seemingly from everywhere at once.
“Hear ye! Elara Croft, true blood heir and rightful guardian of Ravenscroft Estate, by ancient pact and lineage!”

The spectral finger lifted, pointing directly at me. Elias, mid-motion with his glass, froze, his face draining of all color.
His jaw went slack.

The spectral figure shimmered once more, then dissipated as quickly as it had appeared, leaving a shocked silence in its wake and Elias utterly humiliated.
