Chapter 11: Evidence Transmitted

#content-1

👉 [Previous Decision]: You chose Option A – Transmit the raw DNA test results and lab logs immediately to Maya Lin and the FBI.

I looked at the screaming headline on my tablet, then at Maya’s determined face. She was right. This was too big for a desperate, lone confrontation. Julian was already playing dirty.

“You’re right,” I said, my voice steadying. “No more games. We send it all.”

Maya nodded, her expression grim but resolute. “Good. I’ve already prepared the secure channels for the FBI and my own legal contacts.”

She worked quickly, encrypting the vast amount of data from the hard drive. My “innie” self, the quiet archivist, had collected the proof. My “outie” self, the one fighting for his mind, would make sure it got out.

Within an hour, the raw DNA test results, the explicit lab logs from Sub-level 3, and the cross-referenced employee profiles were transmitted. Maya sent a detailed summary, highlighting the most damning evidence, to a contact at the FBI’s White-Collar Crime Division. Agent Rachel Danforth.

As the final data packets left my apartment’s secure network, Maya’s phone began to buzz. A stream of notifications, calls, and emails. The smear campaign against me, so prominent just moments ago, was beginning to falter.

The article accusing me of corporate espionage and domestic terrorism was now being “reviewed” and “updated.” Within another hour, it was scrubbed entirely from the national news site. Julian’s desperate retaliation had backfired.

“The evidence is too strong,” Maya announced, looking up from her phone. “The public backlash is immediate. They can’t deny this.”

Another call came through, this one from an unfamiliar number. Maya put it on speaker.

“This is Agent Rachel Danforth, FBI,” a professional voice stated. “Ms. Lin, Mr. Novak, we’ve received your data submission. The evidence is compelling. We’re mobilizing. Thank you for your bravery.”

My shoulders slumped with a mixture of exhaustion and relief. It was done. The truth was out.

“They’re moving in,” Maya said, a rare, genuine smile breaking through her professional facade. “Julian’s reign of terror is about to end.”
