Chapter 15: The Breach

#content-1

👉 Previous decision: Ethan saw his brainwashed fiancée, and heavy engines rumbled outside.

The brownstone courtyard exploded into a chaotic symphony of shouts and shattered glass. Viktor Kostov’s armored vans, black and menacing, swarmed the property.

With a deafening thud, the main power grid to the building was severed. The brownstone plunged into absolute, suffocating blackness.

Flashbang grenades detonated on the upper floors, blinding white light followed by deafening concussions. Mob enforcers, cloaked figures moving with military precision, breached the upper levels.

Their advance drove Mara and Julian, along with their remaining cultists, down into the subterranean chapel. The very heart of their dark operations.

Ethan, fueled by a terrifying mix of vengeance and desperate hope for his fiancée, managed to pry open the weakened iron door. We spilled out into the dark chapel, just as Mara and Julian were herded inside.

Emergency lights flickered on, casting long, distorted shadows. Mara, her face contorted with panic, made a frantic move towards a bronze bowl at the altar. Her intention was clear: a final ritual burn to destroy all paper evidence.

“No!” Ethan roared, seeing her move.

He lunged, tackling a cult enforcer who stood in his path. The leather binder, Julian’s double-entry ledger, flew from my grasp in the chaos.

It skittered across the polished floor, landing with a soft thud in the very center of the chapel. A single, powerful spotlight from the newly arrived mob cut through the darkness, illuminating the binder like a beacon.

The reckoning had begun.
