The Queen Declared Her Son an Imposter After He Uncovered His Twin's Dark Secret – Now He Fights for Truth and Love in Eldoria
The great hall of Eldoria’s palace shimmered under the light of countless crystal chandeliers. Nobles in their finest silks and velvets filled the gilded benches, their whispers a low hum in the cavernous space. Queen Elara, resplendent in emerald green, sat on her throne, an image of unwavering authority.
Kaelen and Lyra, disguised as minor provincial gentry, stood near the back, their hearts pounding in unison. Elara’s voice, clear and commanding, echoed through the hall, recounting the “malicious sorcery” of the imposter prince, her words painting Kaelen as a grave threat to Eldoria’s stability.
“The kingdom faces a grave peril,” Elara declared, her hand sweeping grandly. “This imposter seeks to undermine our ancient traditions, our very way of life!”
Kaelen clenched his jaw. He noticed Elara’s regal scepter, once a symbol of unity. It now looked ostentatious and cold. He remembered how it used to have small, delicate carvings representing each of Eldoria’s provinces, including the more rural ones. Elara had ordered these “rustic” carvings smoothed over, declaring they diminished the scepter’s “grandeur,” effectively erasing the smaller regions from the symbol of royal authority. It was a subtle, yet cutting, insult to the people she claimed to rule.
The tension in the hall was palpable, a mixture of fear, loyalty, and a growing undercurrent of unease among some of the lesser nobles. Kaelen scanned the faces, searching for an opportune moment, a weakness in Elara’s narrative.
Then he saw him.
A small figure, barely visible among the towering legs of courtiers, was making his way into the main hall. Finn. He must have slipped away from Sorin’s aide, drawn by the murmur of voices, the allure of the bustling court.
Kaelen’s heart seized in his chest. Finn still clutched the translated page from the Chronicler’s Journal, now creased and crumpled in his small hands. His innocent presence was a ticking clock.
“No,” Lyra whispered, her hand flying to her mouth, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and strange premonition.
Finn, oblivious to the gravity of the moment, continued his determined journey. He wandered past the stunned faces, his eyes fixed on something—or someone—at the front of the assembly.
He innocently approached Lady Isolde, now seated near the front, her face a mask of careful attention to the Queen’s speech. Isolde, a woman swept up in courtly appearances, was about to be caught in a tide of truth she never anticipated.
Kaelen and Lyra exchanged a frantic glance. Their meticulously planned unveiling of the truth was about to be orchestrated by a child’s innocent hand. The fate of Eldoria, and their lives, hung precariously in the balance.
