Veteran Matriarch Beverly Exposes Her $2.5 Million Executive Son-in-Law Trevor After He Abandoned Her High-Risk Pregnant Daughter to Party in Miami During an Emergency Twin Delivery
Trevor’s designer luggage thudded to the polished marble floor. His eyes, usually sharp and calculating, darted from me to Darius Washington, then to Aunt Clara and Uncle Marcus who sat composedly on the antique velvet sofa. The air in my Ladera Heights living room crackled.
“Beverly, what is this?” Trevor’s voice, normally smooth for media appearances, had a strained edge.
He looked around the room, as if expecting to find a camera crew, a hidden reporter. His publicist’s training made him scan for image threats.
Darius Washington, crisp in a bespoke charcoal suit, simply adjusted the cuff of his shirt. He hadn’t said a word since Trevor walked in.
“Sit down, Trevor,” Darius said, his voice calm but firm, cutting through Trevor’s agitated state. “We have a few things to discuss.”
Trevor snorted, a show of defiance. He clutched his hands together, his knuckles white.
“I’m not sitting down until I understand why my family has been ambushed,” he declared, his gaze fixed on me. “This is my home. You can’t just—”
Darius didn’t raise his voice. He merely opened a sleek leather binder, the kind that held serious documents. The soft rustle of paper was the loudest sound in the room.
The binder lay open on the coffee table, revealing a stack of forensic digital printouts. Trevor’s eyes flickered to them, a flicker of uncertainty replacing his bluster.
“This isn’t an ambush, Trevor,” I said, my voice steady. “This is an intervention.”
Aunt Clara leaned forward slightly, her posture regal. Uncle Marcus simply watched, his face unreadable. Trevor’s chest rose and fell rapidly, but he took a grudging step toward an empty armchair.
“An intervention for what?” he finally snapped, but he was moving. He sank into the armchair, his gaze still fixed on the binder.
Darius slid the binder toward him, but didn’t let go. His finger rested on the first page, indicating the start of the printouts.
“Your recent activities, Trevor,” Darius said, “have raised some serious questions. Questions we intend to answer.”
Trevor’s jaw tightened. He glanced at me, then at the printouts. He knew what these were. He just hadn’t expected them to be waiting for him.
