Veteran Matriarch Beverly Exposes Her $2.5 Million Executive Son-in-Law Trevor After He Abandoned Her High-Risk Pregnant Daughter to Party in Miami During an Emergency Twin Delivery
Darius Washington didn’t give Trevor time to formulate a defense. He didn’t even release the binder. Instead, he simply began to read.
His voice filled the quiet room, clear and precise. The first few messages were mundane, seemingly from Trevor to an unknown contact, arranging travel.
Then came the date, just three days ago. The same date Maya was rushed to the hospital with pre-eclampsia, her blood pressure spiking dangerously.
“Text message, 10:47 AM,” Darius read. “‘My wife is being such a drama queen. Doctors saying ‘emergency.’ Please. She just wants attention.'”
Trevor flinched, a visible tremor running through him. His eyes shot to me, then to Aunt Clara and Uncle Marcus. Their faces remained stony.
Darius continued, his tone unwavering. “Text message, 11:15 AM: ‘Can you believe this? Stuck here while she gets her precious C-section. Like I don’t have a schedule.'”
Aunt Clara’s hands tightened on her lap. Uncle Marcus’s jaw pulsed.
“And later that afternoon, 3:00 PM,” Darius stated, “while your wife was undergoing emergency surgery, fighting for her life and the lives of your twin daughters: ‘Just landed in Miami. Yacht party tonight. Send the bottle service to the marina. Tell them it’s on the production fund account. No receipts needed.'”
Trevor’s face drained of color. He looked like someone had punched him in the stomach. He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
“Production fund account, Trevor?” Uncle Marcus finally spoke, his deep voice resonating. “Is that what we’re calling it now?”
Darius held up another page. “Then, 8:30 PM, the same day Maya was delivered of one child, and fought for the second: ‘This Miami life, man. So much better than hospital drama. My wife thinks she’s starring in a Lifetime movie. Who cares about bedrest when there’s champagne?'”
Trevor bolted upright from the chair. “Those are taken out of context! Those are—”
“Are they, Trevor?” I interrupted, my voice sharp. “Because while you were toasting champagne, I was holding Maya’s hand, watching her hemorrhage. I was there when baby Hope… when we lost her.”
He looked at me, a flicker of genuine shock, or perhaps just fear of exposure, crossing his face.
“You mocked her pain,” Darius added, flipping to the next page. “You diverted company funds for personal extravagance. All while two lives hung in the balance.”
The silence that followed was heavy, suffocating. Trevor’s attempts at bluster had vanished, replaced by a desperate, trapped look.
