👉 [Previous Decision]: You chose Option A – Demand Marcus step forward on stream to hand over his estate resignation.
“Marcus,” I called out to the vault door, my voice amplified by the phone’s microphone for the live stream. “The entire family is watching. Come in here and explain your confession. Or, better yet, surrender your control of the family estate. Now.”
The pounding outside stopped completely. Then, the heavy bolt slid back. The vault door creaked open.
Marcus stood there, framed in the doorway, his face ashen. He looked disheveled, defeated. He saw the phone, saw the live comments still scrolling. His eyes darted to the confession letter in my hand.
He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He swallowed hard, his gaze falling to the bloodstained watch I still held up. He knew it was over.
“Tell them, Marcus,” I urged, my voice unwavering. “Tell them what you did to Mom. Tell them about the stolen money, about this cabin.”
He looked at the phone, then back at me. His shoulders slumped. A single tear tracked down his cheek. He shook his head, a pathetic, strangled sound escaping his throat.
“I… I can’t,” he mumbled, his voice broken. He turned away from the camera, his hand covering his face. The comments section exploded with outrage and demands for action.
Chloe, standing next to me, patted my arm. Sam’s car headlights swept across the driveway outside.
