Chapter 4: B: Public Humiliation

#content-1

👉 Previous decision: You chose to confront Julian publicly during his Broadway play press conference.

The theater lobby buzzed with reporters, cameras flashing. Julian, resplendent in a tailored suit, stood at a podium.

“It’s an honor to bring this story to the stage,” Julian declared, his voice projected with practiced charm.

I pushed through the throng, my heart pounding against my ribs. “Julian!” I screamed. “You’re a fraud!”

All heads snapped toward me. Julian’s eyes widened, a flicker of panic in their depths, quickly masked.

“This man stole my life savings!” I shrieked, waving my hands. “He’s gaslighting me into believing I’m insane!”

Two large security guards moved in quickly, their hands gripping my arms. “Ma’am, you need to leave.”

“Let go of me!” I struggled, but their grip was like iron.

Julian stepped forward, a look of profound sorrow on his face. He addressed the cameras directly.

“This is a heartbreaking moment,” he said, his voice cracking with feigned emotion. “My mother, Evelyn. She’s struggling with an illness.”

“It’s been a long, painful journey, dealing with her delusions,” he continued, a tear welling in his eye. “But I will always love her.”

The guards dragged me out, my protests drowned by the clicking cameras. The next day, Julian’s performance went viral.

He was lauded for his “bravery” and “devotion” to an “ailing mother.” My name became synonymous with “unstable” and “tragic.”

My public image was not only destroyed but weaponized against me. Julian had turned my despair into his personal PR triumph.
