👉 Previous decision: You chose to accept Maya’s contact info for Viktor Kostov’s mob enforcers and send them the ritual video directly.
Maya Lin quickly scribbled a contact number on a napkin: Viktor Kostov’s senior enforcer. Her eyes were wide with a mix of fear and desperate hope.
I used the secure messaging link she provided, my fingers flying across the keypad. The 4K video of Mara’s ritual, complete with my burning signature, was uploaded and transmitted.
Fifteen minutes later, a dark SUV with tinted windows pulled up outside the diner. My heart seized in my chest. This was it.
The passenger door opened. Ethan Gable, Mara’s younger brother, stepped out. He was not wearing his enforcer uniform, but a simple dark hoodie, his face grim.
He didn’t approach with a weapon. Instead, he simply gestured to the vehicle. “Get in, Leo. We need to talk.”
I hesitated for only a second. This was a choice between the known devil and an unknown monster. I got in.
The SUV sped away from the diner, turning onto a dark, deserted street. Ethan spoke, his voice low and tight.
“Maya’s video,” he said, staring straight ahead. “It showed me everything. Mara lied. She lied about everything.”
His hands gripped the steering wheel, knuckles white. “My fiancée,” he continued, a tremor in his voice. “She didn’t just ‘disappear’ three years ago, Leo. She wasn’t just ‘lost to the world’ like Mara told me. She was murdered. During a similar ritual. They selected her as a ‘debt sacrifice’ too.”
He turned to me then, his eyes burning with a cold fury I recognized all too well. It was the look of a man who had lost everything.
“Mara took her,” he whispered, a tear tracing a path down his cheek. “My own sister. I swore to protect her, no matter what. But she’s a monster.”
He slammed a fist against the dashboard. “I’ll help you, Leo. We’ll destroy her from the inside. Whatever it takes.”
