My Cult-Leader Brother Called Me A Lowly Flu-Shot Nurse At Our Council Luncheon — Then A Two-Star General Saluted Me As Colonel
Silas Drake stood up slowly, his movements deliberate. The air in the assembly hall grew impossibly heavy. He addressed the room, his voice calm, yet resonating with an unyielding authority that silenced every breath.
“The criminal underworld, gentlemen,” Drake stated, his eyes sweeping across the terrified faces of the Elder Council, “does not tolerate financial treason from its operational partners.”
He paused, letting the words hang in the air. “We invest. We expect our returns. We do not tolerate individuals who attempt to defraud our enterprise, especially those who steal from their own family and attempt to blame the innocent.”
He nodded subtly to Elijah Kincaid. Elijah produced his burner phone. With a tap, he played a recording. It was Marcus Carver’s voice, clear and distinct, confessing the full extent of Caleb’s embezzlement.
“…the four point two million dollar shortfall from the syndicate’s escrow if we keep logging her flight pay as tithe revenue!” Carver’s panicked voice echoed through the hall.
Then, more clearly, his confession to Elijah. “He’s been stealing directly from Silas Drake’s investments… forging Elder Thomas’s signature to siphon eight point seven million dollars.”
The recorded confession left no doubt. Caleb’s treachery, his theft of eight point seven million dollars directly from syndicate accounts, was undeniable.
Caleb Finch whimpered, a choked sound of pure terror. He tried to speak, but no words came out. His eyes darted around the room, desperate, trapped.
Silas Drake raised a hand, a single, almost imperceptible signal to his enforcers.
The four silent, masked men moved with practiced efficiency. They grabbed Caleb, one on each arm. He struggled for a moment, a strangled gasp escaping his lips. A gloved hand clamped firmly over his mouth, silencing him instantly.
He thrashed, his eyes bulging, trying to cry out. But no sound emerged. He was lifted, his feet dragging slightly on the polished floor.
No weapons were drawn. No shouts were made. No further speeches were necessary.
Caleb Finch, once the arrogant financial director, the self-proclaimed heir, was hauled out the side exit of the assembly hall, a struggling, gagged bundle of humanity. The heavy door clicked shut behind them.
His reign, his ambitions, his entire life within the Sanctum, ended in absolute silence. The Elders remained frozen, watching the empty doorway, processing the terrifying, decisive finality of his removal. The quiet itself was deafening.
