Trapped in my father's secret corporate bunker, I uncovered the 1944 letter that destroyed us both.
👉 Previous Action: You and your allies arrived at the federal courthouse to confront Arthur Montgomery publicly.
Arthur, his voice momentarily faltering, continued his press briefing, attempting to regain his composure. He spoke of innovation, of American strength. But his eyes kept darting to Helen.
Mid-sentence, Helen Lawson stepped forward. She didn’t shout. She didn’t make a speech. Her movements were quiet, deliberate. She approached the podium, a small, unassuming woman interrupting a titan.
Arthur’s security chief, Marcus Adler, moved to intervene, but Helen was already there. She held out the original 1944 letter, its yellowed edges distinct against the modern backdrop of the microphones. She simply placed it on the podium, directly in front of Arthur.
His eyes fell on the familiar, elegant handwriting. His late wife’s. He saw the attached audit, citing the $18.5 million fraud. The color drained from his face. His hand, reaching for the papers, trembled.
A fountain pen slipped from his fingers, clattering on the polished wood. Reporters surged forward, shouting questions. Arthur’s mouth opened, then closed. He stammered, a guttural sound, his facade crumbling under the weight of his past.
He pushed past the podium, ignoring the desperate calls from the press. His usually unyielding shoulders were slumped. He stumbled into his waiting town car, the door slamming shut, leaving a bewildered silence in his wake.
He fled. His empire, built on lies, began to tremble.
