After His Son's Terrified Call, a Talent Manager Used His Shady Past to Expose His Ex-Wife's Abusive Partner
Part 1
😱 **His Son Called, Terrified and Hurt, Just Before the Line Went Dead—And He Knew He’d Have to Revisit His Darkest Past to Save Him.**
Leo Maxwell, a successful talent manager in Los Angeles, simply picked up his phone when his four-year-old son, Finn, called. Moments later, he heard a muffled sob, a small voice saying his hand hurt.
Then a man’s angry question cut through the silence:
“Who are you talking to?”
The line went dead. The 25-minute drive to his ex-wife Chloe’s house felt like an eternity.
He knew, with a gut-wrenching certainty, he couldn’t go there alone. He immediately dialed his older brother, Damon Maxwell.
“Damon, it’s Finn. He sounded hurt. Quentin cut him off.” Leo’s voice was tight with panic. “Can you get to Chloe’s? Now?”
Minutes later, Damon was striding up the walkway of Chloe Vance’s chic West Hollywood home, his knuckles rapping sharply on the door. Chloe opened it, her blonde hair perfectly styled, a strained smile on her face.
“Damon, what a surprise,” she began, but Damon cut her off.
“Where’s Finn? Is he okay?” he demanded, stepping past her into the bright, airy living room.
Four-year-old Finn sat quietly on the sofa, his small face pale. His left hand was wrapped in a bandage. Next to him, Quentin Croft, Chloe’s new partner, sat with an unnervingly calm expression.
“Oh, Finn had a little accident,” Quentin said, a smooth, practiced smile on his lips. “Clumsy little guy, bumped his hand on the stove. We put some cream on it, he’s fine.”
Damon knelt beside Finn. “Hey buddy, what happened?”
Finn flinched, pulling his hand closer. “It burned, Daddy Damon,” he whispered, glancing at Quentin.
Quentin chuckled softly. “He’s making a mountain out of a molehill, Damon. Just a tiny red mark. Kids get into everything.”
Damon’s jaw tightened. He pulled out his phone, pretending to check a text, and subtly started recording. He captured Quentin’s patronizing smile, the way his eyes dismissed Finn’s pain. This was exactly what Leo had feared.
“Leo’s worried sick, Quentin,” Damon said, his voice flat.
“Leo always overreacts,” Chloe interjected, her gaze flicking nervously between the two men. “He’s so dramatic.”
Damon ignored her, focused on Quentin. “Just making sure everything’s okay.” As Quentin continued to downplay the injury, Damon felt a surge of rage. He discreetly hit send on the recording.
The notification sound was barely audible, but Quentin’s head snapped up. His eyes, previously so calm, narrowed. They locked onto Damon’s phone.
Part 2
Quentin’s eyes narrowed, a cold glint replacing his easy charm. He gave Damon a tight, warning smile.
Chloe, catching the unspoken shift, looked from Damon to Quentin, her face paling slightly.
The tense silence stretched until Damon, his recording sent, stood to leave. He knew his message was clear.
Later that evening, Leo’s phone rang. It was Chloe, her voice tight with barely controlled anger.
“Leo, you need to stop,” she said, her words clipped. “Quentin just told me about Damon.”
“You are completely overreacting for dramatic effect.”
She made it clear that Leo wouldn’t be seeing Finn without prior, supervised arrangements.
She accused him of trying to sabotage her life and threatened legal action if he continued to interfere, effectively isolating Leo from his son.
