Trapped inside an abandoned Cold War military asylum by my son-in-law while tens of thousands watch live
👉 Previous decision: You chose to patch into the exterior ward horn speakers to confront Derek publicly.
Arthur slammed his fist onto the external PA switch. A crackle of static erupted from the old ward horn speakers mounted on the exterior walls, followed by a shrill feedback whine that echoed across the quiet Pine Ridge Valley.
Derek and Lyle Bramwell froze in the courtyard, their conversation abruptly cut short by the blaring audio.
Arthur leaned into the antique microphone. “Derek! You think you can silence me? You think you can steal this land, destroy this history for a fraudulent payout?”
His voice boomed across the valley, raw and powerful. Bramwell’s face paled, his eyes darting frantically.
“The $1.4 million demolition contract, Lyle!” Arthur’s voice cut through the air. “Conditional on my incapacitation! How’s that for a family legacy, Derek?”
Derek’s jaw dropped. He looked around wildly, as if expecting hidden cameras. His composure shattered.
Julian stood beside Arthur, his eyes wide, then slowly hardening. He had been hired to film a PBS documentary. The betrayal was a punch to the gut.
“He lied to me,” Julian murmured, his hands gripping his camera rig, the truth sinking in. “About everything.”
“He needed a witness,” Arthur said, not taking his eyes off the figures outside. “Someone to record my ‘breakdown.’ Someone to make it look legitimate.”
Julian looked at Arthur, his gaze firm. “He won’t get away with it. What do we do next?”
Outside, Bramwell sprinted towards the primary transformer lines, frantically trying to cut the power to the now-broadcasting asylum.
