👉 Previous decision: You chose to direct Julian to override the basement vault security deadbolts.
“The vault first,” Arthur decided, his voice firm. “We need the hard evidence.”
Julian nodded, his fingers flying across the hotwired junction. Wires sparked, lights on the panel flashed. A low, grinding rumble echoed from the depths of the asylum.
Then, a heavy thud. The sound of ancient metal yielding.
“Vault access granted,” Julian announced, wiping grease from his hands. “Deadbolts are disengaged.”
Arthur didn’t hesitate. He led the way down a narrow, dusty staircase, Julian close behind with the light. The air in the basement was colder, heavier, filled with the scent of damp concrete and forgotten history.

Arthur picked up a folder, his breath catching in his throat. “BioChem Dynamics,” he read aloud, his eyes scanning the documents. “Derek’s shell company. Purchased the entire site for $100 after demolition.”
Julian let out a low whistle. “A hundred dollars. They paid a pittance to demolish a historical site, just to get their hands on the land.”
Arthur’s gaze sharpened. The paper trail was undeniable. This wasn’t just about insurance fraud; it was a brazen land grab, orchestrated by his own son-in-law.
