👉 Previous Decision: You chose to drive back to his suburban neighborhood to confront Arthur face-to-face.

The drive back to his suburban neighborhood felt surreal. The familiar streets, the neat houses, the meticulously maintained lawns – it all seemed like a facade. Leo parked his car a block away and walked towards Arthur’s house.

Arthur was out front, wearing gardening gloves and a wide-brimmed straw hat, meticulously clipping rose bushes. His lawn was, as always, perfectly manicured. He looked up as Leo approached, a calm, pitying smile spreading across his face.

“Leo, my dear boy,” Arthur said, his voice smooth and concerned. “Are you feeling quite alright? Karen called. Said you were a bit disoriented.”

Leo’s hands clenched into fists. “You bastard,” he hissed, his voice trembling with contained fury. “You set that trap. You abducted me. And you murdered Clara.”

Arthur’s smile didn’t falter. He straightened up, carefully removing his gloves. “Now, Leo, we’ve talked about this. You’ve been under a tremendous strain since Clara’s unfortunate accident.” He reached into his gardening apron, pulling out a folded legal document. “I understand you’re grieving, but this… this is simply unacceptable.”

He handed Leo a pre-drafted, official-looking notice. It was a $100,000 defamation lawsuit. “I’m afraid I can’t have you shouting baseless accusations in front of the neighbors. My reputation, you understand.”

A few curtains twitched in the houses nearby. Arthur looked around, sighing with practiced weariness. “Poor Leo,” he murmured, loud enough for Mrs. Henderson next door to hear. “He’s had a complete nervous breakdown since Clara’s death. It’s truly tragic.”
