My Brother Paid Me $200k A Year To Forget What He Did To Our Sister On Sub-Level 4
👉 Previous Decision: You chose to attempt sending Clara’s raw audio files directly to an external syndicate rival to destroy Marcus politically.
The decision was swift, born of desperation. I accessed a hidden terminal, the one I had found during my previous infiltration. With trembling fingers, I uploaded the encrypted audio files from Clara’s drive, targeting the known rival contacts of the Moretti family. It was a gamble, a desperate attempt to use the underworld’s own brutal politics against Marcus.
Within twenty minutes, the atmosphere in OmniTech shifted. It wasn’t a sudden explosion, but a quiet, insidious takeover. Dark-suited figures, unknown to me, but clearly not Marcus’s usual enforcers, began to appear on Sub-Level 4. They moved with an unsettling efficiency, relieving Marcus of his authority with curt, dismissive gestures.
Marcus, pale and defeated, was led away without a struggle. The building was seized, every file, every server, every piece of technology taken.
Then, one of the new enforcers, a man with cold, unblinking eyes, approached me.
“Julian Kowalski,” he said, his voice a low growl. “You know too much. You are an unstable liability.”
He placed a heavy hand on my shoulder. “You have three hours. To leave the state. Forever. If we find you in Chicago again, you’re dead. Your sister will be cared for. But you are no longer part of this city. Or this family.”
He dropped a small, unmarked envelope on the console. Cash. A one-way ticket to oblivion. The weight of his words, the finality of it, crushed me. I had destroyed Marcus, yes, but I had also severed myself from everything I knew, everything I cared for.
