My Brother Paid Me $200k A Year To Forget What He Did To Our Sister On Sub-Level 4
👉 Previous Decision: You chose to trigger the emergency power overload in the electrical vault.
My hand slammed down on the emergency override lever in the vault circuit panel. The ancient machinery groaned, a deep, mechanical roar echoing through the concrete chamber. Simultaneously, with a protesting shudder, the heavy glass security doors of Sub-Level 4 slammed shut, locking Marcus and his guards inside.
Just as the metal latches engaged, a blinding bolt of lightning tore through the stormy sky. It struck one of OmniTech’s massive roof conductors, a deafening crack that vibrated through the very foundations of the building.
The entire power grid of the facility bucked violently. Lights flickered, sputtered, then surged with terrifying intensity. The humming of the memory machinery escalated into a high-pitched whine, then a deafening shriek.
A cascade of sparks rained down from the ceiling panels on Sub-Level 4, visible even through the reinforced glass. The emergency generators, already straining under the massive voltage fluctuations, began to emit a guttural roar, trying to compensate, but failing.
Marcus, his face a mask of sudden, dawning horror, pounded on the glass. He shouted something, his voice swallowed by the cacophony of the storm and the groaning machinery.
But it was too late. The system was locked. Marcus, his guards, and the automated memory machinery were all caught in an irreversible electrical feedback loop, hurtling towards a catastrophic meltdown.
