At St. Jude Hospital, in her sterile pediatric room, 10-year-old Lily Reynolds lay resting, her heart monitor beeping steadily. She glanced at the screen, a flicker of light catching her eye. Her room monitor was flashing an emergency administrative override.
Her brows furrowed. She recognized the unique string of numbers and letters, a complex logistics access code she’d seen her grandfather use on old hospital documents. Arthur’s code.
Lily reached for her tablet, her fingers, though weak, moved with practiced ease. She had spent countless hours exploring the hospital’s internal network, a game she played to pass the time. With a few quick taps, she bypassed the system’s initial firewalls.
The flashing override led her to a hidden server log, a real-time feed from a mausoleum security camera. She saw the struggling figures, the looming presence of security guards, and in the background, a man, faint but recognizable, who looked like her grandfather.
Lily’s eyes widened. She knew what she had to do. With another swift series of commands, she accessed the hospital’s central public broadcast server.
Within seconds, the mausoleum security camera feed, live and unedited, replaced every promotional video on every waiting room display in the entire hospital. Doctors, nurses, and anxious families stared, mesmerized, at the unfolding drama.
